I am a small town kid from Kernersville, North Carolina. I met a beautiful Slovene girl while at Wake Forest University and the rest is history. I packed up my life, moved to Slovenia, and got married in the summer of 2010. I started my athletics career around the age of 8 and have been doing it ever since. I began my journey with Tri-City Relays, a Winston-Salem, NC track club. In high school, I was coached by my mom, Terri LaRue, and Tyrone Holeman. I competed five years at Wake Forest with coaches Scott Hall, Michael Bennett, and Brian Clymer. My collegiate career was full of highs and lows with four ACC conference titles, 2x all-american, ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year, and 2x hip surgery. I made the switch from the Decathlon to the 400 meter hurdles in March 2010 due to an elbow injury. I can compete for Slovenia now! Thanks to everyone who has helped make it possible. I hope to make Slovenia proud!
